Welcome to Apollo High School

Apollo High School is one of four Small But Necessary schools (SBN's) within the East Side Union High School District. These SBN's were created for the sake of aiding students who have slipped behind in acquiring credits towards graduation. Due to its small size, its individualized approach, and its variety of alternative education programs, Apollo has been largely successful in graduating seniors for eight years now.

Apollo High School houses only 80 students. Class sizes at Apollo are small and teachers can, therefore, attend to the specific needs of each student. Apollo has four homeroom classes, each with twenty students per every one teacher. Students spend a significant amount of one on one time with their homeroom teachers. During this one on one time, teachers help students create personalized learning plans, which are detailed outlines that guide students towards graduation and future careers.

Apollo takes a unique approach to helping students graduate. Along with taking challenging core classes in Math, Science, Social Science, and English, students are offered concurrent classes, CCOC training, Adult Education, junior college classes and many other options for earning credits. An emphasis at Apollo is helping students to acquire skills that will help them to secure a job or school acceptance after graduation.

Students must be referred to Apollo. If interested in attending, a student must make an appointment to speak with the Associate Principal or counselor at their school of residence to obtain a referral. Please contact our school for more information about this challenging and successful program.
